9/5 The Mezz Playlist- Rise of the Speedmen and Scrabbel LIVE in the Studio

Wahooooooooooo! Monday was like the best day ever!!!! Not only did we have a dope ass featured artist we had our first ever LIVE performance in Sidewok Studio A! Ladies and Gentleman … we were making Mezzanine HISTORY!!!

Rise of the Speedmen
MySpace Page

Rise of the Speedmen is be far one of the most talented musical delights that I have ever heard. The layering of the sounds mixed with his vocals makes for a killer sound. Please if you like what you hear check it out!!!!!

LIVE IN THE STUDIO —- SCRABBEL!!!!

Scrabbel

Although 1/3 of the band came, Aya and Dan rocked the house. Dan on guitar and vocals with Aya singing with her super duper cute xylaphone, Scrabbel made Studio A a “Unplugged” venue that MTV and Jodeci would have been HELLA jealous of. Don’t forget to check Scrabbel out on September 24th at Bimbos in San Francisco at 9pm, they are opening for Nouvelle Vague. More details on their webpage.

Thanks again to all the listeners that make us strive every monday. It is cause of you we work our damn hardest to bring you the best music from all the local/indie bands.

Remember, if you know of bands who need airplay …. hit us up with details at thmezzanine@sidewok.com.

Hope you enjoyed the show!!!!

Hugs and kisses loves,
the Mohawkian Princess

Confundable Willows Radio Show 7/28- All API music!!!

No progress comes without change and that is exactly what Fishdogg and Neckface
had in mind as they premiered the brand new Confundable Willows Radio Show.
How is this different you may ask? Well, we are glad you asked. If you have
been listening in the past months, then you would know that the original show
contained a section every week called API Happy, which featured 3 new artists/bands
from the Asian / Pacific Islander community. However, due to the enormous amount
of support from the API music community, and of course by popular demand, Fishdogg
and Neckface have a collection of songs they are confident can last them 2 hours
every Thursday. Yes, that is correct. From now on the Confundable Willows Radio
Show is now a weekly 2 hour program featuring the best music from up & coming
API artists/bands/musicians/vocalists!!! It is about goddang time someone put
together a show like this. Too much talent to be wasted by the closed minds
and ears of the general music industry. "If they won’t play our music,
and especially promote that it is from this community, then I say fuck ’em.
Let’s just make our own noise, loud enough so they can’t help but notice,"
explains Neckface. So, stay tuned and spread the word as the Confundable Willows
Radio Show joins the API musical revolution!!

Confundable Willows Radio Show Changes Music Format!!!

Hi! This is “Neckface the Asthmatic” from the “Confundable Willows Radio Show” every Thursday evening from 8-10pm. I hope all is well. The reason for this post is to inform you on an exciting update! As you may have already experienced, our show included a portion dedicated to showcasing the talent in the Asian / Pacific Islander (API) music community, known as “Section API Happy”, which many of you have been included in. We always highlighted 3 bands each week. However, the rest of the show was basically music from all other communities.

Now here is the exciting news! Because of the unexpected, but extremely-appreciated amount of support our show has been receiving from all of you in the Asian / Pacific Islander music community, we have decided to dedicate our entire show…that’s right…OUR ENTIRE SHOW to playing music from bands, musicians, and vocalists from the API music community!!! Two hours of API driven music!!! Call it the new HAPI HOUR, if you will!!

Secondly, as some of you may have noticed, we have developed a section on Sidewok.com dedicated to the API community ( http://www.sidewok.com/wordpress/?page_id=85 ). As you will notice, we have made a list of all the artists we are playing on our show and will continue to update it as we get into contact with more artists.

Also, there is an “Events” page,
( http://www.sidewok.com/wordpress/?page_id=95 ) so please feel free to check it out and stay informed on days you can support your API music community!!

Lastly, we would like to invite you, especially those of you in Northern California, to our official Sidewok Radio Launch Party “Sidewok Presents…” featuring Kero One, Golda Supernova & the Comic Book Heroes, Mikial & C-Keys, and The Wildlife on Friday August 19. ( http://www.sidewok.com/wordpress/?page_id=81 ) Hope to see you there!

Again, thank you for your patience in reading all this information! Have a good one everybody!!!
