THM feat. Golda Supernova and the Comic Book Heroes

Golda and the Comic Book Heroes, first caught The Heterogeneous Mezzanine’s eyes and ears at an Open Mic, hosted by Revival Arts, and sponsored by Sidewok.com. Their “early no doubt” punk sound rocked Paddy’s Coffee in Union City. The band couldn’t supply the crowd with enough CDs for purchase, after the performance, as the crowd seem to rush the stage to grab copy of their EP. Even the response during our live broadcast was outstanding. By far the most positive feedback we’ve gotten for a local norcal artist, as listeners blasted out AOL instant messenger requesting more information. Be sure to check out this up and coming band.

Returning as featured artists, are some bands you’ve heard in the past on The Hetereogeneous Mezzanine: Hip Nova, Goh Nakamura, Sistine.

Also featured on THM, is one of Sidewok Radio’s favorite new artists of 2005, Eisley. First, catching Sidewok’s eye on tour with Coldplay, and head lining there own show at Slim’s in San Francisco, Eisley brings a unique blend of mellow alternative rock, melodic vocals (almost in a country diva style), with beautiful poetic lyrics. This is one band of three stylish young girls, a brother, and a friend, that you should keep your ear’s out for. Be sure to check them out on our rebroadcast (for Apr. 18, 2005)!

Deux Process – the Colorado invasion

When we think of NY/east coast hip hop, many artists come to mind: KRS-ONE, Beastie Boys, Mos Def, etc. When you think, west coast/California hip hop, we can name many, such as Tupac, NWA, E-40.

But what about Colorado? We wouldn’t think of Colorado as a breeding ground for phat beats and intricate rhymes, but you’d be surprised of the rising talent coming out of there. It’s the Colorado invasion, and representing in the true spirit of independent music is Duex Process.

In February, Fefe and the rest of the Sidewok crew, had the pleasure of interviewing these up and coming hip hop artists, laying down cool beats, and spittin’ hot fire! Below we have the interview as aired on a live broadcast of our hip hop mixshow. Be sure to check it out.
