Spinnin’ the “real†hip-hop: old skool/new skool/underground/independent/breaks/turntablism
The Beat Suite provides quality hip-hop from the latest underground joints back to the days of the old school. In addition, we promote local independent hip-hop artists and dj’s/turntablists. Every week we try to conduct a special theme for the listeners such as dedicating a segment to a particular hip-hop producer by spinning all songs/artists that he produced, or maybe playing west cost vs. east coast, golden era cuts, or simply having a friendly Q&A Scratch Session with some of the Bay’s premier turntablists today operating on up to 5 turntables and 3 mixers, hence the Beat Suite. Special guest dj’s weekly and local artists with interviews. Don’t sleep!!!

Every Monday Night, from 8-11pm you can indulge your ears by listening to the eclectic collection of sounds brought to you by Antonic and the Mohawkian Princess. A show conceived by the notion of two friends, who together encompass tastes from all different genres of music. From punk to Hawaiian, from indie rock to Hall and Oates, we’ve got it all covered. Other features: the Cover Corner and the Local Artist Spotlight.
When asked what she thought of the first show, the Mohawkian Princess said, “Its like sitting out, under the stars on a stoop or something with all your friends and them playing all their favorite music for you.†Cause just like your friends, all music is different and are very important to you!
